A Tudor manor house and gardens inspired by Gertrude Jekyll which was acquired by the National Trust in 1907 and was the first large country house taken on. By that time the house was in a very poor state of repair, having been used for the storage of farming equipment and after a fire in the 19th century.
There are pictures here from two visits, some years apart and in different seasons.
