On the edge of Dartmoor close by Buckfast Abbey is the delightful Buckfast Butterflies and Devon Otter Sanctuary. It's a lovely place to pass an hour or two observing the antics of the mostly rescued otters, and seeking out the butterflies and other creatures in the tropical house.
Where possible the otters are returned to the wild after they have recovered their health, although a few pairs are now resident but seem very happy with their lot.
