These magnificent gardens were created as far back as 1765 by the first Countess of Ilchester as a kitchen garden for her nearby castle. Since then they have grown to more than 20 acres and contain many rare plants collected from around the world. The gardens were restored after the great storm of 1990 and now provide a wonderful day out.
